Annual Salary Survey

Each year, PECG and CalHR (representing the Governor’s Office) jointly conduct a salary survey of Engineers and related professionals employed by 18 of California’s larger counties and cities, plus the University of California system. Data is collected, compiled, and published.

This year, the survey results show a 3.5% lag for state employees at the entry (Range A/B) level, 5.3% at journey (licensed/Range D); and 5.0% at the Senior/Supervisor level. These are the lags prior to the 2% salary increase for all PECG-represented employees on July 1, 2017.

The next round of contract negotiations between PECG and CalHR to upgrade salaries and benefits will occur in the Spring of 2018.
