The Legislature has passed a State Budget for the upcoming fiscal year which begins on July 1, 2014. Included in the approved State Budget Bill is funding to address the salary inequity for PECG-represented supervisors and managers to take effect July 1. For our salaries to be adjusted, Governor Brown must sign the Budget Bill and then direct the State Department of Human Resources (CalHR) to send a Pay Letter to the State Controller’s Office with instructions to adjust salaries for the various classes.
The PECG Meet-and-Confer Team is scheduled to meet with representatives from CalHR on Friday, June 20. We will seek details on the pay plan for PECG-represented supervisors and managers. As the Budget will not be final until the Governor signs the Budget Bill, it is possible that CalHR may not be ready to discuss or confirm the details of the pay plan. PECG will continue discussions with CalHR until the details of the salary inequity adjustments are finalized and the Pay Letter is issued.
The PECG Meet-and-Confer Team appreciates your continued support as we seek to resolve this long standing inequity.
Alan Escarda, Vice President Supervisory
