This legislative session, PECG is sponsoring AB 1729 by Asm. Alex Lee (D-San Jose) and Asm. Josh Hoover (R-Folsom) to maintain flexible telework rights for PECG members, and all eligible state employees. The bill cleared the Assembly Public Employment and Retirement (PE&R) Committee on a unanimous, bipartisan 6-0 vote on April 8. The bill now moves to the Assembly Appropriations Committee for a hearing on a date that has yet to be set.
Please use this form to submit a letter to your legislators and urge their support for PECG-sponsored AB 1729 (Lee, Hoover) to maintain flexible telework for eligible state employees. PECG has drafted three sample letters for members touting the big picture, environmental, and budgetary benefits of the bill.
To view the various letter options, click “Switch Message” on the form. Once you enter your home address and click “Send Message,” the system will then email your letter to the Assembly Member and State Senator associated with your home address. If you are a constituent of one of the Assembly Appropriations Committee members, they will get your letter as well as the hundreds of other letters being sent from other state employee constituents. At this time, we do not want to overload the Assembly Appropriations Committee members with thousands of letters from non-constituents.
